Goals from the last half of Kim Jin-su and Kwon Chang-hoon gave the Koreans a good victory over the base team in Asia Group A passing.

South Korea, the 15th country to match the 32-team stadium bill, has dropped 11 points from third place in the United Arab Emirates with two games to go.

Iran, a successful winner, beat the UAE 1-0 to stay in Group A. Iran last week became the team from Asia to equal Qatar when it beat Iraq 1-0.

The two major groups from these two circles are eligible. Third-placed teams will advance to the playoffs. In Group B, Takumi Minamino's first-half goal made Japan on the verge of beating Saudi Arabia 2-0 at Saitama Stadium and saving the hosts a chance to play in the seventh World Cup.
